I already had a USB3.0 card reader by Transcend It's worked flawlessly every time I've inserted a card unlike the previous device I had that, whilst a 3rd of the price of this unit, caused more problems than it was worth. It's connected to the USB hub on my Dell monitor and with a Lexar Professional 133x SDHC card inserted it writes at about 18MB/s which I find more than adequate for my needs. I bought this reader mainly for use with SDHC and CF cards but it also has slots for microSDHC/microSDXC and MS/DUO cards as well.

For size comparison I'd say the unit was about the same width and depth as a credit card and 2cm high. The cover has a Kingston logo on it that lights up red when a card is inserted/accessed and the unit also comes with about 1m USB cable. It's a relatively small unit, made of plastic with what seems like a metal cover on the top. I bought this to replace a rather basic and temperamental reader and having seen this unit recommended by someone on a YouTube video I decided to take the plunge.
